I’m sick of ranting about Mac and PC and now that I’ve got it out of my system it’s time to look at other things going on. I’m now bored with the US election although the stupidity of Americans never ceases to impress. Sarah Palin is completely insane. Sure she looks good in a sort of MILF porn way and that’s a good thing but bragging that you’re just a hockey Mum with a gun is pretty terrifying. Just what the world needs, a clueless fundamentalist running a near bankrupt empire in its death throes. I’m thinking of the list of idiot emperors who saw out the last days of the Roman empire before being overrun by the barbarian hordes. There’s many similar examples in history and the decline of the USA will be listed amongst them by future historians.
The initial foundation of the USA at independence by secular libertarians (mostly) along Masonic principles was a groundbreaking true revolution in human civilization and it’s very sad to see such exalted principles degenerate into a criminal marass shored up by hyper-capitalist oligarchs. It’s game over USA. This is China and India’s world now and unless there’s another revolution of similar scale to 1776 then America and the high ideals of the founding fathers will fade away and fragment. Just like Rome. The legions are all on the frontier, the central authority is disconnected and unrepresentative and the population is becoming more degenerate and divided in terms of health, education and living standard. Same old situation as every other empire and the end result is always the same.
If you have a good look at the US achievement in its 200+ years it’s not all that great and more frequently bad than good. You need to disconnect from the barrage of propaganda and media bullshit the yanks use to convince themselves of greatness. As an example let’s look at an area Americans pride themselves on most – war.
It’s war that they like best and they’ve been involved in quite a few. Many they caused or helped cause but despite their chest thumping and bragging about how great they are the record in reality is not so good. Observe:
War of Independence
A close run thing but they were mostly British subjects then and trained by British standards. There were some examples of brilliant generalship as well as some spectacular incompetence. The result was positive, a new secular order of the ages and the world might actually have evolved from here. However…
War of 1812
The US had a good case trying to protect neutrality but it very nearly lost and if the British hadn’t been bogged down in the Peninsular War the US might have been returned to the Empire. Lucky escape.
Mexican War
A win against a bankrupt and overextended Mexico with a disenfranchised population. Nothing to brag about. An inevitable result.
Indian Wars.
A war of annihilaton against indigenous propulations. Not so much a war as the collision of civilizations. Inevitable. However, a better armed Indian population would have prevailed. Examples of Indian superiority in war abound and the last conflicts were not concluded until the 20th Century. A sad and shameful period of American history. Australia can boast a similar thing.
Spanish American War
A pretty dubious case of American aggression and opportunism using the media as a pretexting tool for war. The shape of things to come. Basically a land grab from an old colonial empire in its final days. Easy win.
World War 1
Late comers (sensibly) who tipped the scales for an Allied win. Showed no brilliance in the field and learnt nothing from the previous 4 years. Meuse-Argonne offensive was lossy for US but the German army was nearly finished. The war was won by the weight of fresh troops only. Participated in a shared win.
World War 2 European Theatre
Wins in Africa and Sicily due to the Royal Navy keeping Afrika Korps supply limited. There’s no question Rommel would have destroyed the Americans in Operation Torch if he was resupplied. A win to the Royal Navy. Italian victory was hard fought and close run. Allies helped by apathetic Italian population and the successful breaking of the Caesar line by Canadians.
Operation Overlord cannot be diminished as on other the greatest masterpieces of combined total warfare and the American contribution should never be seen as anything but awesome. However, it must never be forgotten that 90% of the German army was shoring up the Russian advance and that if even one or two divisions could be spared Overlord might have failed. Still, in historical terms, the US led a great coalition against possibly the best army that ever existed to that date and prevailed displaying episodes of military brilliance that rank with those throughout history.
Pacific Theatre
No question here. A big win to the US. Not single handed though as many Japanese divisions were pinned down in India by the British and Australian forces took the first wins against Japan in New Guinea. But the ultimate crushing of the Japanese was 90% a US victory and deservedly so.
The Second World War established the USA as the centre of world democracy and it is here the American empire reached its zenith. It’s all bad from here.
Korean War.
A draw and an ugly one at that. Officially the war is not over. Or is it “police action”? American double-speak. Whatever it is, a bad result for the US.
Vietnam War.
A loss both militarily, socially and politically. Veterans and apologists will say they never lost a land battle. Big deal. If that’s not denial then what is. You lost the war. You lacked the will. You were never going to win. Australians fared much better here than the Americans but still bad for us as well. All this despite Ho Chi Minh approaching the US in the 1050’s for support to gain independence from France.
Grenada
A joke
Panama
Another joke resulting in the deaths of up to 4000 civilians.
Operation Desert Storm
Massive tactical win followed by humiliating return to status quo and the destruction of those Iraqis who helped the US. Here a bunch of historical upstarts with state-of-the-art weapons take on one of the world’s oldest civilizations with 5000 years of experience in war. The USA fails to understand that war occurs in many forms and also fails to understand that their view of ‘manifest destiny’ is erroneous. Also clearly obvious is the failure of the notion of their racial and cultural superiority. This was an opportunity to liberate Iraq with clear local support from Arabs in the south and Kurds in the north. Both would be betrayed with dire consequences for both. The fact that Americans cannot be trusted is reinforced around the world.
Somalia
A farce. The beach assault under ‘fire’ from a media circus was laughable. The humiliating withdrawal just sad.
The War on Terror
All bullshit. Americans are directly responsible for the cause of terror. The 9/11 attacks were a response to American policy. No American cried for the civilians killed by American ‘collateral damage’ and there are orders of magnitude more of these than killed in New York. Being killed by a Boeing commercial aircraft is NO DIFFERENT from being killed by a cruise missile. You were counterstruck by a determined and organized enemy. The targets were centres of American might and symbols of American culture. The attackers do not distinguish civilian from military. The civilians in these targets were all happily, if unwittingly, participating in the very things that oppress the culture of the attackers. I’m not justifying this, just saying what is really happening.
Afghanistan
Not good. Nobody wins here. The Taliban must go even if they were recognized as the legitimate government after the Soviet war there.
Iraq
America is losing and will continue to lose. Just like Vietnam but worse. Even if the fighting dies down. Iraq will never be an ally of the USA. Cultural memory lasts forever and even if Iraq disappears the people living there will never have any love of the USA. Ever.
So overall, the military record is mixed at best and well past it’s golden age. America is an evil empire on the verge of collapse. That’s not good considering the promise of 1776. I know there are segments of America who understand this and are concerned about how the world views them. You can see it in their TV shows. Take Boston Legal, a comedy but always with the theme of America’s degeneration. The problem is that Americans are mostly easily duped by their own self-image which is why a frightening lunatic like Sarah Palin can get to run for VP. She’s hot enough to fuck just like the MILFs in the porn they watch so ‘yeah, she get’s my vote’. Be scared world, be very scared. Unless by some miracle a black man gets elected and they DON’T rig the election. But he’ll get assassinated. It’s just like the fall of Rome all over again. But worse.
